Several companies in Kenya purchase rabbit urine from rabbit farmers. These companies buy rabbit urine in large amounts and repack and sell the same urine at high prices.

The price of rabbit urine in Kenya will depend on the demand for urine from farmers. If the demand is high, the price will also be high. Therefore, rabbit urine purchased directly from farmers costs between Ksh. 300 and Ksh. 500 per litre, depending on the location of the farmer.

Four Uses of Rabbit Urine for the Farmers

Rabbit urine is used in various ways by farmers. The following are four uses of rabbit urine for farmers:

1. Rabbit urine is used as a pesticide and insecticide to control pests and insects in crops.

2. It is used in the formation of biogas since it is mixed with rabbit droplets to form biogas.

3. It is used as plant fertilizer to supplement the nutritional needs of the plants.

4. Rabbit urine is used to reduce the cost of production since rabbit farmers can cut costs on how much they spend on purchasing inorganic fertilizer, pesticides, and insecticides.

How Exporting Rabbit Meat is Done in Kenya 

To be a successful rabbit meat exporter, you need to know the regulations governing export. In Kenya, all exporters are required to have a trade license. The exporter should be registered with the Customs and Excise department as an exporter and given an export code number.

Rabbit meat should be authorized by the Ministry of Livestock Development by the Director of Veterinary Services to ensure that the meat is free from diseases.

Before exporting rabbit meat, it must be slaughtered in designated export slaughterhouses and an inspection certificate is issued as proof of meat for shipments to foreign countries.
